This book is as good as any you'd find on a rack of bestsellers. The only thing that would be different about this book from those is that this author is not as well known. But, with this type of writing, I suspect he soon will be. The storyline absolutely keeps your interest and is far from predictable. Well done.
The Things of Man by Vince Wheeler is a powerful and engrossing novel which revolves around Brad Manford and the mystery surrounding his past. It's difficult to go into too much detail without giving away major plot points, but, suffice to say The Things of Man will take you on a thought provoking ride with a truly unexpected ending. Fans of science fiction works such as The Twilight Zone, Akira, the works of Stephen King, and more recent films such as "Donnie Darko" and "Moon" are sure to enjoy The Things of Man.
The Things of Man is an exceptionally written story that engulfed my interest from page 1. There are many things to like about it. The prose is natural and smart but not pedantic or overly esoteric. The story is propulsive and help a strong grip on my shortened millennial attention span. I finished the book in 3-4 days. The concepts explored throughout are thought provoking. I really enjoyed the layered elements of the story from the standpoint that the organic or rather the 'human' in all of us is juxtaposed with something..... beyond that.....something supernatural for lack of a better term. The characters are relate-able. It's impressive how the writer is able to seamlessly blend a little mystery with some suspense, sprinkled in with introspection and a hint of some physicality. In short, it turned out to be a riveting and sharp read. I highly recommend it.

Vince Wheeler's book The Things of Man is a page turner. I especially like the local references made to Wichita since I lived there for almost 30 years. I could almost place myself in the city again with his detailed descriptions of the places and locations.
