This is the third book in Jessie Bennett's Fairbanks series. However, while we do meet or hear about characters from the previous books, this book is stand-alone and it is not necessary to have read the others in the series (The Marquess' Curse and More For A Duke) to understand and enjoy this book.Originally from Australia, Viscount Allan Grey has been traveling on business for the past several years, accompanied by his sister, Emiline. The two find themselves in England, in Fairbanks at the time the Duke and Duchess are having a ball. Shawn and Elizabeth are very welcoming and have a very good first impression of Allan, even going so far as to invite him and his sister to stay with them while they are in the area, although there is something - off - about Emiline.
Allan also makes a good impression on Janelle, Elizabeth's sole unmarried sister, and she on him.
However, there is someone else at the party, someone whose intentions are not entirely pure and who may yet cause quite a turmoil in Fairbanks. When certain objects start to go missing, will it put a damper on Janelle and Allan's budding relationship? Will the thief be caught before they have the chance to strike again? Perhaps with more harm done this time?
A advertised, this book is clean, which I appreciate. While not perfect, the editing is decent. This is a sweet, easy read with a bit of action, and I enjoyed it. It is one of Jessie's finer books to date.

Jessie always put so much into every book. Her stories come to life, uou feel like you are there with the characters. Going through the bad time and the good. You can see and feel how the story builds and how the characters grow
I would definitley recommend this book to those that want an adventure and want to find love.
Yet another great book by a great author. I usually read her books in one sitting, finding it hard to put them down, and this one was no exception. Well written and well worth reading if you are a Regency romance fiction fan. I find it a must to read every book this author publishes.
This is a continuation of the Fairbanks novels. Each can be read as a stand alone. I love reading the books without the explicit sex. This is the story of Viscount Allan Gray is from Australia and Lady Janelle. There is also intrigue in the form of valuable statues that go missing.
Jessie Bennett is an author you don't want to miss.
The story line is good and interesting, but there are several things that distract from the plot. The conversations are a bit stilted and many don't sound natural. The forms of address are incorrect in many instances and the fashion and customs of the period are not totally correct. This is a good book for young adults, but with the darker undertones I'm not sure I would classify it as a "clean" romance.
Another great Regency Romance by Jessie Bennett. She did not disappoint me as this book was great as the others I have read of hers. A little more of Shawn and Elizabeth at Worthington Manor and her sister Janelle. Will Janelle find the love she has been waiting for God to send her or will the man who caught her eye be brought down by his sister who is less than honest? Will the thief be caught that's stealing the valuables and be put away? Romance and a little mystery thrown in makes for an interesting story. You don't want to miss this great book.

Jessie Bennett continues with another riveting story involving members of the Worthington family.
Australian Viscount Allan Grey and his sister, Emiline, arrive in Fairbanks while looking for land to expand their father's business. They meet Duke Shawn Worthington and his wife Elizabeth, and are invited to stay at their residence while looking at available properties. Allan meets Elizabeth's sister, Lady Janelle Dowling and it becomes apparent that the die-hard bachelor and Janelle are destined for each other.
Thefts in the Fairbanks area start when Allan and Emiline arrive and an intriguing mystery ensues.
I continue to enjoy Jessie Bennett's work, especially this book, and eagerly await her next installment.
This is the story of Lady Janelle Dowling And Viscount Allan Gray. Janelle is the sister to Elizabeth the Duchess of Worthington whom we met in the first book of this series. For me this author's style of dialogue seems to slow my ability to get started with her stories. But once I am accustomed to this, I am drawn in. This book accomplished this a little quicker this time. Viscount Allan and Janelle become instantly attracted to each other. He and his sister Emiline have arrived from Australia looking for property and to acquire backing for his inventions. Emiline is along because she's a been bit of a problem at home and their father has sent her along in hopes that her brother can straighten her out. Little do they all know that a bigger problem has followed them to Fairbanks.
